Stewardship survey
IMA’s second report on adherence to the FRC’s Stewardship Code looks at the activities that support institutional investors’ commitment to the Code in the period to 30 September 2011.
It summarises the responses of 58 Asset Managers, 20 Asset Owners and five Service Providers to a questionnaire that had been developed under the direction and oversight of a Steering Group chaired by the FRC’s Chief Executive. The survey demonstrated:
- a rise in dedicated stewardship resources;
- prioritisation of engagement on key issues; and
- more integration of stewardship into the wider investment process; and
- an increase in voting levels.

The report also focuses on five case studies providing evidence of engagement leading to a positive impact on corporate behaviour. the case studies cover Tesco, Prudential, BP, Vodafone and Xstrata. |
