Douglas Ferrans
Chairman
Douglas is Chairman of Invista Real Estate Investment Management plc. He was previously Chief Executive and more recently Chairman of Insight Investment Management from its creation in 2001 until 2008.
Richard Saunders
Chief Executive
Richard Saunders has been Chief Executive since May 2001, overseeing the creation of the IMA in February 2002 from a merger of AUTIF and FMA. Much of his career was spent in the Treasury where, among other roles he served as Press Secretary to the Rt Hon Lord Lamont when he was Chancellor of the Exchequer, and piloted the 1986 Building Societies Act through Parliament.
Liz Murrall
Director, Corporate Governance and Reporting
Liz is responsible for corporate governance, engagement issues and company reporting. Liz provides the secretariat to the Shareholder Voting Working Group and represents IMA on the Institutional Shareholders’ Committee, the Confederation of British Industry’s Companies and Financial Reporting Committees, the Corporate Reporting Users’ Forum and the IASB’s Standards Advisory Council.
Julie Patterson
Director, Authorised Funds and Tax
Julie has responsibility for all matters relating to authorised funds - product and retail distribution regulation, fund accounting and operations, and tax. She also has responsibility for all tax matters impacting our members, including VAT.
Guy Sears
Director, Wholesale
Guy has responsibility for wholesale regulation, operational risk, prudential issues, financial crime, non-fund operations, equity dealing issues, institutional mandates and the interaction with pension funds and IMA's legal and IT resource. Guy is also a Director of the UK's Joint Money Laundering Steering Group and a member of the Banking Liaison Panel.
Victoria Nye
Director, Training and Education
Victoria has responsibility for developing training and qualifications in the investment management sector. She also represents the association on matters relating to financial capability and is a founder and board member of Pfeg, a leading financial education charity in schools.
Navdeep Sidhu
Press Officer
Navdeep co-ordinates the IMA’s media relations programme on a wide range of issues affecting the UK asset management industry, including the size and shape of the industry, regulation and tax as well as long term savings and pensions generally.
Dr Jonathan Lipkin
Head of Research and Pensions
Jonathan is responsible for overseeing the IMA’s research activities, including the annual Asset Management Survey. In addition to his work on the research side, he is closely involved in the development of the IMA's policy work on pension saving and retirement income.
Mona Patel
Head of Communications
Mona heads up the press office and is responsible for UK parliamentary activity. She also oversees content on the IMA website and production of the Association’s publications.
