Daniel became Chief Executive of the IMA in December 2012. Previously he spent 11 years as Director General of the Association of Investment Companies where he led on a number of complex regulatory and industry challenges. He was also Chairman of the Personal Finance Education Group (pfeg) and a member of HM Treasury’s Financial Services Forum. Most recently, Daniel spent two years at the Phoenix Group.
Dr Jonathan Lipkin - Director
Jonathan is responsible for the development and external representation of the IMA's policies on pensions and long-term savings, as well as the IMA’s research activities which help to shape these policies. Jonathan is also responsible for the IMA's collection and dissemination of industry statistics, and for IMA Sectors which help consumers and advisers find and compare investment funds.
Richard Metcalfe- Director
Regulatory Affairs - Institutional & Capital Markets
Richard is Director of Regulatory Affairs for the Association, with responsibility specifically for its work on institutional and capital markets. This work entails engagement at EU and international level, as well as on UK legislative and regulatory initiatives. In this role, he works closely with other IMA Directors, particularly in the Public Policy area and Risk, Compliance & Legal. He also has oversight of IMA work on Corporate Reporting & Governance.
Julie Patterson- Director
Regulatory Affairs – Investment Funds & Retail
Julie Patterson works closely with UK and European regulators and policymakers on issues impacting the operating environment of collective investment funds (regulation, operations, accounting and tax) and regulation of the retail market.
Guy Sears - Director
Guy has responsibility for wholesale regulation, operational risk, prudential issues, financial crime, non-fund operations, equity dealing issues, institutional mandates and the interaction with pension funds and IMA's legal and IT resource. Guy is also a Director of the UK's Joint Money Laundering Steering Group and a member of the Banking Liaison Panel.
Annette Spencer - Director
Annette is responsible for developing and delivering all external and internal IMA communications across a range of channels such as our website, publications and social media. Working closely with IMA members, the press, regulators, other trade associations and stakeholders, Annette’s role is to build awareness and understanding of the IMA's purpose and objectives and trust in the things it does to fulfil that purpose.
